Delhi - Cochin - Kumarakom - Allepey - Cochin  Day 01 - Delhi - Cochin (Flight) On arrival at the Airport in Cochin, you will be met and transferred to Hotel. After lunch go across the Cochin Harbour, which takes you to the gateway of the Arabian Sea. On arrival at Fort Cochin, proceed on a sightseeing tour, which includes a visit to the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Chinese Fishing nets, etc. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Cochin.  Day 02 - Cochin - Kumarakom (Approx 90 kms - 2 Hours)Today after breakfast you will be driven to Kumarakom; view the scenic picturesque landscapes on your way. Kumarakom the charming emerald peninsula jutting into the ever-effervescent Vembanad Lake takes you into the heart of the scenic lake where you'll come across plenty of traditional country crafts, boats and canoes. The fresh water of the lake runs into the mainland making a labyrinth of lagoons, brooks, canals and waterways. The backwater houses a variety of species of both fauna and flora. They are rich with marine life namely the exclusive 'Kumarakom Karimeen' (pearl spotted fish), Konju (tiger prawns), Njandu (crabs), Chemeen (prawns) and many more. Check in at the Hotel/ Resort on the banks of the Vembanad Lake. Spend the evening at leisure and stay overnight at the Resort  Day 03 - Kumarakom (Houseboat) Breakfast at the hotel. Board the houseboat from Kumarakom jetty. Staying in this moving palace is breathtakingly stimulating experience. While sailing down a maze of canals one sees different scenes from the villages, paddy fields, coconut palms, fisherman and local life. Enjoy Lunch & dinner in the Houseboat. Next day morning breakfast and tea snacks will be provided in the boat. The boat will be anchored in the evening in a beautiful location. Dinner and Overnight in the houseboat. Day 04 - Departure Allepey - Cochin (Approx 30 kms - 1 Hour) After breakfast in the houseboat disembark at Alleppey. Alleppey is also known as Venice of the East because of the narrow canals and backwaters. Mirror still lagoons, picture book lakesides, palm fringed canals, shores bustling with glimpses from day to day life in the country side. Welcome to Allepey. Later transfer to Cochin Airport for your onward journey to Delhi by Flight. |
